Taylor Fischer - Lover of Life
Where is home?
San Diego, CA will always be home but Honolulu, HI is where I'm living.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Ironically this is a pretty relevant question! I was raised pretty old fashion so in the future I want to have a nice home, family, stability, and priorities so I live by the motto, "Do it while you're young." If things go as planned I want to move to Bali for a little while after graduation.
Best advice you have ever received.
"Talk less, listen more.” I have a hard time with this one from time to time. I'm bit of a Chatty Cathy haha.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. I'm good at a lot of things but not necessarily great at anything haha. I grew up racing motocross so that will always be a passion of mine but now a days I like to use the word "adventure." Anything outdoors that gets the ol' heart pumping is probably something I enjoy doing.
What inspires Taylor Fischer?
Music. When I hear the right song I start to visualize what it would look like with video. All the videos I make were made in my head long before I even shot the footage. I believe that's the difference between my work and everyone else's because I don't jump the gun and edit a video. I visualize what it would look like - it's a literal spark of imagination when the song is right.
Who is your biggest role model?
That's a hard one. I've always been a visual learner so I learn from everyone and everything. If I see something I like I try to integrate it into my style which was learned from all the other people who've influenced me in the past. I see people mimicking my videos all the time and although it's awesome to see I've influenced others, I like to see when they add a personalized twist of their unique style. If I had to single it down to one person I would have to say my older brother, Eric. My brother is an incredibly hard worker and I've always admired commitment and persistence so he's always been a great role model for me.
How has social media helped your career?
Social media has helped me in countless ways. It's the reason why my media has been put on the map, why opportunities have opened up and why I'm getting paid for the thing I love doing.
What is your dream job?
Oops, already hit this one haha. I want to be a videographer for a company that pays me to travel and follow professionals around the world. Nothing is greater than working with professional athletes.
